It pays to cooperate with the law!

Just been pulled over in Sandton for talking on my mobile (or cellphone as they call it in South Africa) whilst driving. I apologised to the officer and said it was an emergency, which it was, but normal I phone home while driving anyway, so I'm guilty and got caught, this time.

Believe it or not, the officer said just because I apologised I can make the price as to what the fine should be, I wanted to say R5, but I thought, let's empower the guy and said any fine he can think of is cool. So he halved it to R250. Call bananas!

Anyway, turns out it was his birthday today too and afterwards he thanked me for not being nasty.

LandyOnline, a must if you own a Land Rover Defender

I had a Land Rover Freelander 1, the worst car ever, brilliant inside but really just a small 4x4 designed for the school run. Promised myself never ever ever a Land Rover again.

So now I drive a Defender 90, 2005 model. I LOVE it. The best car ever, the best 4x4 ever and I had Toyota Hilux 4x4. I pulled a Toyota Land Cruiser from the sand in Kosibay.
